OUR VISION
The vision statement of The Rock Student Ministries is: “helping students INVEST in their relationship with Jesus, CONNECT with other believers, be EQUIPPED and raised up as leaders in Jesus and MOBILIZE them to serve their local community and the world.” Everything we do flows from this statement.
INVEST
We aim to help students invest in their relationship with and grow closer to Jesus. This is a continual process but begins with the steps of faith and surrender to Jesus. It is further developed through personal discipline and intentional growth in understanding of the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures.
CONNECT
We aim to help connect students closer with God and with each other. We believe that Christ followers are not meant to do life alone and there is power in community and connection. Our goal is provide opportunity for students to get connected through small groups and intentional community focused events.
EQUIP
We aim to help equip students to embrace and engage the call and mission of Jesus both locally and globally. Our goal is to present them with opportunities to discover their fit as part of the Church and seek to engage in that role as well as the evangelistic movement of Jesus to the world around them.
MOBILIZE
We aim to help mobilize students to be the Church in their daily lives. We believe that students have a tremendous opportunity to minister to their friends and peers in their daily lives and are called by Jesus to be on mission to be missionaries in their schools, to their families and everywhere they go.

FAQS

The Rock Student Ministries is for:
-Investing: We want to fulfill the mission of The Rock's vision to celebrate the life change of over 250 people who take their first steps to follow Jesus as well as hundreds more who are growing in discipleship and taking spiritual steps through our church. Our goal is for every teenager who attends an RSM event connected through small groups and Bible studies throughout the year.
-Connecting: We want to fulfill the mission of The Rock's vision to connect Jay County in authentic relationships by offering community focused events that lead students to build relationships with each other and ultimately with God. To help fulfill this mission, we aim to offer one community event per month and at least three new students who are not regularly connected to RSM at the event. From the event, we desire to get those students plugged into RSM on a regular basis.
-Equipping: We want to fulfill the mission of The Rock's vision to raise up 50 new leaders through our leadership pipeline who launch God inspired ministries, and be involved in launching a new church. Our goal is to offer leadership opportunities for students on Wednesday nights and serving at church on Sunday morning.
-Mobilizing: We want to fulfill the mission of The Rock's vision to mobilize our church to become an irreplaceable part of our community by serving 20,000 hours. We are wanting to help accomplish this mission by serving as a student ministries at minimum once per semester and three times per year through things such as service projects.
RSM runs from 7-8:30 pm. However, doors open as early as 6:30pm!
RSM meets in the commons area of the Rock Church. Students can enter through the far left door closest to Greeks' Pizza.
We have some hangout time at the beginning of the night with games, food, board games and community! RSM officially begins at 7pm and we go into our meeting space where we play group games, worship the Lord, have a topical message and then break into small groups which are organized by grade and gender.
Small Groups are a Christ-centered space where any student can find belonging with peers and an adult (ministry by linking HANDS with others). Groups range in size from 5-12 and are split by grade and gender and discuss the topic of the lesson that night.
